Relearning The Basics

I've lately been really unsatisfied with the quality of my art. I just... I can't capture scenes in my head because I lack the skill to portray them correctly. I need to suck it up, forget style, and get into life drawing.

It'll be hard, since half the fun in drawing for me is the originality. But I need to just get this over with and learn how to draw real people. Anatomy, perspective... all of it.

So! This means I might be submitting more art. It won't be anything like the old stuff... but you never know. I just need to turn over a new leaf. It'll be interesting to say the least!

Stay loose, stand back from the board/canvas, hold pencil or brush further back than where you would when writing, use negative space to help you, unfocus your eyes to determine overall shape or blobby areas of liht and dark if that helps, use the whoel page, dont get caught up in detail, try to perceive the underlying form. You'll do fine!
